There are many ancient cultural remains at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia, and those of the Western Xia (Xixia) dynasty account for the majority. In 2017,the Ningxia Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology found three Buddhist temple sites of the Western Xia dynasty during the archaeological investigation of ancient cultural remains at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains with a clear understanding of the nature, shape and size of the sites. This is of great significance for the study of the architectural layout and temple features of the Western Xia dynasty.
