Journal Introduction

Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites is a Chinese-language academic journal (quarterly) sponsored by the Dunhuang Academy. Founded in 2022, it was recognized as an "RCCSE Chinese Academic Journal" in 2024.The journal focuses on fundamental research and practical applications in the fields of cave temples, earthen sites, and archaeological science, both domestically and internationally. It publishes the latest theories, methods, technologies, and achievements in cultural heritage conservation.Aiming to integrate theory with practice, the journal strives to advance research and academic exchange in cultural heritage conservation. We sincerely welcome contributions from experts and scholars worldwide.

Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites currently features the following main sections: Protection of Cave Temples, Conservation of Wall Paintings, Protection of Earthen Sites, Archaeological Science, Digitization of Cultural Heritage, Materials and Technologies for Conservation, Theory of Cultural Heritage Protection, Conservation and Restoration Cases, and Site Archaeology, among others. The journal charges no manuscript review fees and offers remuneration for published articles in accordance with its standards.
