On November 15th, 2023, the Gansu Provincial Society of Scientific and Technological Journals held its annual council meeting. The meeting was presided over by Liu Wei, the Chairman of the Gansu Provincial Society of Scientific and Technological Journals. All director units of the society participated in the meeting, and Li Hongyuan, the Director of the Publication Management Division of the Publicity Department of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee, delivered a comment speech. The key task of this council meeting of the society was to evaluate the journals that newly applied to join the society. Ding Detian, the Deputy Director of the Editorial Department of the Dunhuang Academy, reported to the society's council on the founding situation and current development of the journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites. Director Li Hongyuan affirmed the current work progress of the journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites, and at the same time put forward new expectations for the Dunhuang Academy to base itself on Dunhuang and create academic journals with Gansu characteristics.

After reporting to and being deliberated and approved by the council of the society, Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites was selected to join the council of the Gansu Provincial Society of Scientific and Technological Journals and was elected as a director unit. Comrade Ding Detian was elected as a director of the society.
