Micro Perspective on the Two Sessions: Representative Wang Wanfu Discusses Cultural Heritage Protection, Proposing Recommendations to Foster Civilizational Inheritance
During the National People's Congress and the Chinese Political Consultative Conference (NPC & CPPCC), the protection of cultural heritage emerged as a key focus among representatives and committee members. National People’s Congress (NPC) representative Wang Wanfu from the Dunhuang Academy offered insights on advancing systematic cultural relic preservation and inheriting Chinese civilization. He highlighted three critical areas: international collaboration in heritage protection, ecological conservation, and talent development, aiming to drive comprehensive safeguarding of cultural heritage.

Italy returned 56 pieces of lost cultural relics to China

Researchers from the Editorial Department Participated in the Academic Investigation in Sichuan and Chongqing Conducted by Young Scholars of Dunhuang Academy
From November 1st to 14th, 2024, the Dunhuang Academy organized young scholars to conduct academic investigations, study and exchange activities at grotto temple ruins, museums and relevant cultural and museum institutions in Sichuan and Chongqing. The aim was to promote young scholars' understanding of the value of grotto temples, strengthen academic exchanges, and improve the levels of cultural relics protection and academic research. Researchers from the Editorial Department participated in this activity.

From June 25th to 28th, 2024, the 11th Western Science and Technology Journal Development Forum was grandly held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. With the theme of "Building High-level Science and Technology Journals to Serve the Development of New Productive Forces", this forum attracted more than 700 colleagues from the journal industry from 28 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) across the country.

The Journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites Was Promoted at the Chinese Society for Conservation Technology of Cultural Relics
From May 23rd to 26th, 2023, the "11th Academic Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society for Conservation Technology of Cultural Relics" was held in Zhengzhou. Nearly 400 people from universities, scientific research institutes, and cultural relics protection enterprises across the country participated in this grand event to discuss and exchange ideas.

After reporting to and being deliberated and approved by the council of the society, Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites was selected to join the council of the Gansu Provincial Society of Scientific and Technological Journals and was elected as a director unit. Comrade Ding Detian was elected as a director of the society.

On June 15th, the academic journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites, supervised by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Gansu Province and sponsored by the Dunhuang Academy, was officially launched and issued, and its launching conference was held in Lanzhou.

Dunhuang Academy was approved to establish the journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites
In order to promote the conservation research of cultural heritages such as grottoes and earthen sites, and publish the latest research achievements in the fields of grotto temples, earthen sites, scientific archaeology, etc. at home and abroad, the Dunhuang Academy applied for the establishment of the academic journal Research on the Conservation of Cave Temples and Earthen Sites. It received approval from the National Press and Publication Administration at the end of 2021 and was officially launched in the first quarter of 2022.
